# Automate all emails from _conversion_ to _retention_.

Send emails to the right users at the right time, based on what they did, or did not do.

how it works

## Set up your automation in 3 steps.

### define your trigger

Define the entry condition. Contact joining a list, a property change, or any user event.

### build your sequence

Add your emails, and set the timing between each email. That’s it.

### activate automation

Contacts enter automatically. The right email goes out at the right time, every time.

### FAQs

## In case you're wondering

### What's the difference between Email Automations and regular Marketing Emails?

Marketing Emails are one-time sends to a list like newsletters, announcements, and campaigns. Email Automations are triggered sequences that run continuously in the background, sending to contacts individually based on their behavior or properties.

### Is there a limit on how many emails I can add to a sequence?

You can add as many emails as your flow requires.

### How long does it take to set up an automation?

Most automations are live in 5-15 minutes. Define your trigger, add your emails, and set the delays between each email.

### What happens if a contact's trigger condition changes mid-automation?

If a contact no longer matches the trigger condition while they're in an automation, they'll exit the automation automatically.

### Can I see how each email in a sequence is performing?

Yes! AutoSend gives you per-email analytics, not just aggregate stats. You can see opens, clicks, unsubscribes, and complaint rates for every individual email in your flow.

### Do I need a developer to set up Email Automations?

No, everything is configured through the AutoSend dashboard. If you're tech-savvy, AutoSend already has an MCP. Automations via MCP are coming very soon.
